This is something I want to share in case it helps someone else. I had devastating experience with abortion. I don’t want to go into the details again. Suffice it to say that it destroyed my life for 22 years, including my raising my born child, a son. FINALLY I went to Project Rachel in Florida and found the most wonderful, spiritually gifted elderly woman who held my hands, reached inside me and began a healing process which has been painfully slow. I have despaired again and again. I had to leave Florida and say goodbye to Maggie.
What I want to share is this: I finally realized what is probably obvious to those who grow up with any kind of faith instruction, that you have to love God first. I was so attached to those babies I lost, and to my son, that I forgot to put God first.
You have to trust in His purposes. I have to trust in His purposes for the children I lost and the son I tried to raise in a horrible situation. I have to understand that, however important my children are to me, this is human love, and the love of God comes first. I was finally able to let go of my two children, long deceased, and hold on to the one I have now, entrusting all to the Lord first.
For whomever it may concern, I wanted to share this. This understanding, this realization, finally got me over the hurdle of my constant despairing and brought hope back into my life.
