Evangelicals have not projected a united pro-life platform in Brazil, certainly not one as monolithic as the Catholic Church’s. But at least one major sect, the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God, has taken a stance that showcases its differences with its Catholic rival. The Universal Church’s television channel TV Record recently aired spots featuring a woman declaring, “I decided who to marry. I decided to use the pill. With my vote I decided who’d be elected President. I decided to work so that I won’t be discriminated against. Why can’t I decide what to do with my own body? Women should be able to decide for themselves what’s important.” (See the top 10 religion stories of 2008.)

it is not a question.

i am showing the damage that people are doing to others when they claim to be Christians. it is a big problem when the CC says one thing and others holding the Bible using the same God preach a different Gospel.

Which only serves to show why the Bible cannot be the “Sole Rule of Faith”.

The Bible teaches that Murder is wrong.
Abortion is Murder
Abortion is wrong.

The Catholic Church holds to the ancient and unchanging Truths, not to the current “trend of interpretation”.

that is exactly it. the CC is telling people about morals and others who uses the Bible speak contrary.

this is a mega church in brasil. they have a television chanel. they are using their tv to teach people that is ok for you to do what you want.

there is a battle going between Globo tv which the owner is a Catholic and the record which belongs to this mega congregation. the tv record is paying a lot of money to actors and employes trying to take the employes from the Globo tv. the record is battling against the CC in Brasil. the sad thing is that are succeeding in taking many Catholics from the Church.

Is your point that everyone should teach that abortion is wrong? I really can’t read your sentences and see what your point is. The other posters here are quite clear.

do you not know what the Church teaches?

the Bishop told the mother of the child to not seek abortion. but she dissobey the Church. that is ground for excommunication. also for the doctor too. the man was the stepfather.

Perhaps english is not this person’s first language.

Wisdom,
All we can do in this circumstance is explain the truth to those who ask, live our lives as examples of our beliefs, and pray as much as we can. Don’t be troubled. It will all work out for the good in the end.

Larkin, why are you so mad?

i thought it was all clear.

what do you think it does to Christianity when the CC teaches and enforces Moral laws when others claiming to be christians advocate contrary? we know that there are many people who are not well educated about the CC, so they follow whatever makes it easier for them. it deceives many who doesnt understand what God wants from the people.
