…you have NO idea, pal. None at all…
I know that I can never understand the pain of childbirth as well as woman. It’s similar to how a woman can’t understand the pain of castration as well as a man.
Then the the U.S. Penal Code is motivated by revenge, because the U.S. Justice system mandates eight years in prison for every count of rape perpetuated against an adult victim. It’s even worse if the victim is a child related to the perpetrator.
Time in prison is very different from physically deforming someone.
There are some instances in which “I’m sorry, I repent” just doesn’t cut it.
In who’s eyes? 😉
A man who rapes his own 11-year-old niece is a monster who deserves to go to prison, and the rough justice he’ll receive at the hands of his fellow inmates will make castration look kind.
I agree with the first part, but not the second.
I’m PRO the little girl’s life. The uncle has removed himself from the realm of law-abiding human beings by what he did to that child. I’m PRO the death penalty for depraved indifference to life and crimes against children, as well.
Yes, I understand that you are PRO many things, but you are still not entirely pro-life.
Okay, so it’s not okay to wear a low-cut top in your worldview, but saying “I’m sorry I raped my 11-year-old niece and got her pregnant, I won’t do it again” is enough to make everything all better?
I don’t recall saying this either. Correcting your rediculous statements about my beliefs is getting tiresome.
I’m speechless with horror.
I’m just curious: do you call yourself a feminist, perchance?

Yes, you did.

That is a clear and overt threat of violence.

If you didn’t threaten violence, then why are you justifying your threat in your very next sentences?

If you dare speak lightly of the pain and potential mortality involved in childbirth, then you’re even more misogynistic than I originally thought. Speaking as a mother who labored sixteen hours to bring my son into the world and who required a blood transfusion afterwards – you have NO idea, pal. None at all. I’m astonished at your lack of compassion.

I dare you to go speak flippantly of the pain and mortality of childbirth before the woman who bore YOUR children (if you have any.) And I hope you’re not within arm’s reach when you do it.

Yeah and as for the giving birth thing…it is also important to remember this is a CHILD. A child who likely isn;t even fully grown and developed. So if birth can be a painful and life threatening for a full grown woman just imagine what it could be for a young girl! And the chances are pretty high she might not even be able to give birth vaginally because she is too small! So then she would need a c-section. And from what I hear those can have a long painful recovery time…not to mention I here there is a risk of having your uterus tear in future pregnancies among other things.

Let’s see:

Threatens violence against a woman: Check
Denies threat of violence against a woman: Check
Justifies threat of violence against a woman: Check
Patronizes second woman: Check
Thinks an apology after raping a child makes everything all better: Check
Thinks castration is worse than forcing an 11-year-old to go through childbirth: Check
Makes light of the pain and possible mortality of childbirth: Check
Shows more compassion for a rapist than his victim: Check
Thinks calling for justice for a rape victim = revenge: Check
Thinks “feminist” is a bad word: Check

And he claims he’s not a misogynist…

  1. The only one you got right!
I thank you for the laugh, though. I’m sure we all appreciate it. :coffeeread:

Jaden(name removed by moderator), I think you’re going a little over the top. You never said to your husband or kids, “I am sooo gonna smack you for that!”?

I mean, am I “threatening violence” when I say that? And when I do smack my husband on the shoulder or the top of his head, am I engaging in spousal abuse? (This is usually playful, BTW.) And when I smack my kid across the bottom for discipline, or again, playfully on top of the head, am I being “violent?”

I think Caesar used a common expression of frustration with no real intention of hurting anyone. Very few people actually mean it when they say, “I’m gonna kill him!” And I think you are stretching many of the things he said to the point of hyperbole.

I still don’t know why people are dancing around about this…
What does the Church teach?

Abortion = Murder = Mortal Sin

Neither the child, nor the mother are in mortal danger, so any of your “pain” and “suffering” arguments are invalid. If childbirth was so bad, you wouldn’t be here at the moment.

In this case, the abortion is the wrong action. Thus, it is sinful. Supporting the sinful action puts sin on your soul as well.

End of story. No dancing around. This is the Truth revealed to us Through Christ and his Church.

Actually pregnancy and especially childbirth can be VERY dangerous especiallyfor a child.

The Church only supports the death penalty in circumstances that nothing else will do to prevent further harm to society. Countries without nice jails, for instance. In this day and age, in the US, there is no need for the death penalty. Confined in a small room for 23-24 hours a days all alone until death? Be my guest to throw him in.
  • This is, though, Romania we are speaking about. Not at all sure about how the prison system works there. It might be possible in the circumstance to allow his death.
Technically all we need to do is repent to be forgiven of any sin, and do our Penance. Physical threats towards him is a natural response along with horror and disgust. But it won’t do anything positive other than make us feel better, and hurt him. God will Judge him when he dies, and He knows better than we what is going on.

As for the poor girl, I do hope they opt out of the abortion and somehow let the child live. Spend their time helping the mother and not wondering about how to kill her child for instance. She’s far along, either way she’ll be giving birth. And I’d think having a dead child would be more traumatic than a living one. She’s a child, and children aren’t as stupid as some think. Or naive. She’s been through hell, to kill her child and then induce labor so that she can pass the body? That traumatizes grown woman who went to have abortions without thinking it through. It’s not a mass of cells, it’s a small looking person who will not be moving or breathing. And will probably be throw away without an care. How they’ll explain that this is alright to her, I have no idea. Whatever innocence she still has will be thrown away after that experience.

And with surgery, if I’m not mistaken, kids do better recovering than adults do overall. Biologically girls do better even than boys. I had gallbladder surgery at age 8. Not the same thing as a C-section, but it still required being put under and cut a bit. If anything I remember the fun hospital stay.

As has been pointed out, young girls have given birth before and in ancient cultures to be married off and have children at a young age wasn’t odd either. [Yes, yes, to die in childbirth was also common then, but my point is that it was done and not everyone died then. Much less now.]

But, none of what we say on a forum really matters. This is happening on the other side of the world for most of us, and we’ve no (name removed by moderator)ut. So how about instead of bickering over how someone hates women because of a comment that didn’t even mean anything, we Pray?

Our Father Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Actually pregnancy and especially childbirth can be VERY dangerous especiallyfor a child.
Key term “Can be”

PLaying football “can be” dangerous as well.
Mountian climbing, even driving a car “can be” dangerous.

Yet we’re not discussing these things because they don’t bring life into the world.
Somehow I wonder why its even a question anymore, to give birth or not.
