Washington, DC – The ban on partial-birth abortions brought home the pro-life message that abortion kills an unborn child and was responsible for shifting public opinion on abortion squarely into the pro-life category. Now, Nebraska could pave the way for the next kind of abortion ban that could pique national interest.

Isn’t it sad that we live in a world where you cannot backhand your own son or daughter in such a way as to not even leave a mark or injury without having DCS at your door - but there are people that would protect a woman’s right to induce serious, debilitating, injurious pain on a 20 week old.

I’m sorry but I find this somewhat wanting. T.S. Eliot knew that the greatest evil is to do the right deed for the wrong reason. For then the right is denied and overturned by the good deed. I think this is an example. Painism is being used, for example, to elevate animal rights and simultaneously diminish human rights. The issue is not sentience, but the value of life itself, and should not be made to be so even in a good cause. I vote no.
