Isn’t it the lack of being pregnant and carrying the baby to term that causes the increase in breast cancer? Abortion prevents giving birth and being a celibate nun does the same.assuming nuns aren’t having abortions, no.
Some of the earliest studies regarding the causes of breast cancer used nuns as one of the study groups and that is where it was originally found that carrying a baby to term was beneficial to breast health.
If we wanted to do all we can to prevent breast cancer in as many women as possible , it would be better to outlaw abortions and also allow nuns to give birth.Abortion definitely hurts the health of women on a number of levels and conversely giving birth also helps women on a number of levels.
Science and religion sometimes makes for strange bedfellows. Sometimes they like who they wake up next to, and sometimes they don’t.
