after 49 year of continuous, abortion deaths in the same building, it looks like the prolife community’s efforts have come to fruition-- the abortion place in my area may be closing. the realtor wants to hold a community celebration in the building once it is vacated.
  1. Is there an official blessing for purification of a former place of death?
  2. Should the prolife community still go to the community celebration? All that we know is that a doctor will lease the building. the realtor said, “…but he is not that kind of doctor”. We still do not know what sort of business will be transacted in the building
After 49 years of death, this place still has the stink of death. That building is still not fresh from that miasma. I think we need to be cautious before we rejoice.

They’d be better off tearing it down and making it a field.

I don’t know the specific blessing for murder scenes, but I would certainly think a blessing by a Catholic priest and perhaps a prayer by a prolife Protestant would be in order.

As long as the dead are remembered, why wouldn’t you think this something to celebrate? If the realtor doesn’t want to be involved, I would hold the blessing/remembrance ceremony anyway.

Or a memorial park. Something beautiful and designed to remember the loss of innocent life that took place. And the number of deaths that happened there, if they can get the number.

I don’t know of any specific blessing or liturgy for this scenario. The only similar one is the Liturgy of Reparation, which is used after a Church has be desecrated by some horrible action.

The best option I might offer is to have a priest perform a blessing, and include a minor exorcism. Any priest can do this, there is no special permission required.
Deacons can perform the blessing, but a minor exorcism is restricted to the priesthood.

I agree but short of us sane buying the land and paying for it all I don’t see it happening.

Alas, one of the possibilities I thought of has come true: the death place is moving around the corner from the main street to a quiet side street. They are moving from a highly visible, highly trafficked site to a less visible site that receives almost not traffic. The battle moves around the corner.

The minions of Satan know the ways of this world. They want to operate from the shadows to spread their death-- ruining the lives of women and killing their babies. The stink of hell loves the dark.

Thanks for your advice.

As far as your original question, I would suggest that the old venue be blessed with *exorcised *salt and water…as well as by the “Prayer Against Satan and the Rebellious Angels” (note: to be said by a priest or bishop ONLY…laity should not use that prayer)

As far as the new location, I refer you to the actions of priests in the Diocese of Rockford. They, together, performed a solemn exorcism on an abortion mill. While I don’t know the long-term result, I do know that the mill was forced to close that day when Satan’s power was directly attacked.

thanks. have already forwarded the article and your response to the prolife committee in my parish. we will continue our prayers around the corner at that place of hell

This is true, but the cities that give them businesses licenses and open the door to them are just as guilty, as are the police that protect this place of evil, basically anyone that promotes or aides in their ability to keep their business open is also guilty.

I know Hitler did not kill as many people as abortion has over the years, but if you think about the men who built the death camps, designed them, wired them, etc…I imagine they are all equally guilty in Gods eyes to the people who actually did the killing there.

And we will continue to shine light into the darkness no matter where people try to hide.
