These are a few points that may help a pro-choice person understand the truth about abortion, hope it helps in discussions:
  1. We define life and our individuality by our own, unique DNA. At conception the newly conceived baby has its own DNA.
  2. The Lacy Peterson Law states that if a pregnant woman is murdered, the offender can be charged with 2 murders. This makes an interesting point: If the mother had wanted an abortion, does this mean there was only 1 murder? We can’t claim an unborn baby is a life and not a life at the same time.
  3. Pro Choice defenders claim that the unborn baby cannot survive without the mother, therefore, the mother has a right to terminate the pregnancy on that basis alone. A 1 day old, a 1 month old, or 1 year old also cannot live without help, so this argurment has no basis.
There are many other points that can be made, but if any of these help anyone out there to explain the truth behind abortion, then God Bless.

Thank you, these do help, particularly the second one. I’ve heard of it, but hesitated to add it to my stock of arguments because I didn’t know if it was an actual law.

If I may add, in cases of rape or incest, one could say that no child should ever have to die for the sins of the father. I learned this from the article of that teenager dialoging with those pro-choice people.

cor5755 & Le Chiot Noir,

I agree with both of you! I especially use point #3 when talking with pro-choice people about abortion. An unborn “fetus” may not be “viable” and thus in their opinion could be aborted, but neither is a newborn, a 1 year old or even a 5 year old “viable” or able to survive without help. Thanks for posting! 👍
