wait…it would be selfish of me to not carry a baby to term because I don’t have adequate healthcare?Would it not be prudent to err on the side of caution, on the side of life? It is selfish to think of only yourself and not your child’s. Service above self? Ring a bell? I’m a healthcare student as well and the department chair for health sciences told all the programs that the day we started school. It goes beyond what we do in the hospital, but our daily lives as well.
It would be selfish of me to carry a poorly-nourished baby to term when if I had an abortion, the child wouldn’t have to undergo suffering while in the womb (because of lack of nutrition) and outside of it for the rest of its life, regardless of whether I kept the baby or put it up for adoption (because I couldn’t take care of it in the womb…)?
I’m not following you.
