Abortion in Case of Incest or Rape

Would it not be prudent to err on the side of caution, on the side of life? It is selfish to think of only yourself and not your child’s. Service above self? Ring a bell? I’m a healthcare student as well and the department chair for health sciences told all the programs that the day we started school. It goes beyond what we do in the hospital, but our daily lives as well.

Yes, because it’s not a “potential” person - he or she is already a person. Having an abortion means killing someone who is already alive, because of the inconvenience of their existence.

Killing your unborn child because you don’t have adequate health insurance is exactly the same as if we killed you for not having adequate health insurance - if we said “Well, we don’t have the money to take care of this person if something goes wrong in the next year or so, so we’d better kill her, so that we won’t have to pay her hospital bills, if she would need to go to the hospital,” it would be the same thing.

I hope you would agree that it would be monstrous to kill you just because they might get sick in the next nine months - it is equally monstrous to have an abortion because you are worried that you might need to have a hospital birth.

It’s the same thing, because the unborn child is just as much a human being as you are, and as I am.

False choice, in fact you could obtain proper nutrition for your child in utero and health care for the delivery … there are many options.

First: There exist government sponsored social safety nets: like the WIC rogram, food stamps, welfare programs … even health care …

Second: Many charitable oganizations exist to assist you in carrying the child to term. They will also assist you in adoption or in keeping the child …

Third: Many couples seeking to adopt will cover the expenses [health care and proper nutrition and living expenses] for woman to carry her child to term. They even offer open adoptions so the mother can decide to maintain contact or not to …

And none of the above three includes the obvious option - family assistance and support …

It is selfish when you could easily get medicaid for the pregnancy and as others have mentioned, WIC, foostamps, etc. As far as after birth, it would be very easy to put the child up for adoption to a loving family.

Yes. It is hard on the women. But it’s worse for women who choose abortion. Women who bring their pregnancies to term whether they keep the baby or give them up for adoption never regret their choice. The ones who go for the quick fix solution regret it for the rest of their lives. This is the torment that goes on in their heads: “I had an abortion because I was raped. Because I was raped I had an abortion. I had an abortion because I was raped. Because I was raped I had an abortion. I had an abortion because I was raped. Because I was raped I had an abortion” Over and over and over. Their abortion will forever remind them they were raped. And does anyone know who the biggest supporter for abortions in cases of rape is ? Are you ready? Here it comes. THE RAPIST! That’s who! Rape is a crime. Yet somehow when pregnancy occurs in those rare situations it’s merely looked upon as an incorrect inconvenient method of conception and the rapist goes free to rape again and again and again.
