Svetlana Medvedeva, wife of president of Russian federation, has led efforts by Orthodox in Russia to oppose abortion. She was instrumental in establishing week of family, love and faithfulness which is on Feast day of St Peter and Fevroniya. This is followed by Week Against Abortion, led by group which she heads called “Give me Life.” This is what Svetlana first lady of Russian federation says:

“The aim of this action is to turn attention on the destruction consequences of abortion -to the life and health of women and for society in the whole. But for us it is important to lead the conversation not only in a negative track - what evil is brought by abortion - but to speak about the positive things, to emphasie the holiness of maternity, the great honor and joy for women to be mother, and the great call of a man to be a father.”

And she Orthodox believer who says of her faith:

“Faith gives to our life a firm, undestroyable basis. Indeed the believer knows that he is loved by God. This knowledge strengthens of spiritual strength, helps us to live and to overcome obstacles.”

This is great turn of history that now Russian federation first lady is advocate of motherhood and against abortion. Many Western presidents, first ladies are active supporting abortion. They have not yet seen destruction of their country by such actions.

Below is poster for week against abortion in Russian Federation, containing also words “Give to me Life.” Baby is sitting among certain flower called “romashka” like a margarita but big and beautiful - symvol happy marriage. Romashka is symvol of week of family love and faithfulness also.

Three cheers for Mrs. Medvedeva!!!

I can’t remember the last pro-life First Lady the US had.
They have not yet seen destruction of their country by such actions.
Maybe Mrs. Medvedeva could talk some sense into these American women.

Best wishes.

Although abortion is always a sad topic, there is so much in this story to be encouraged by…that the the wife of the president should speak out for life, that she can speak out for her Russian Orthodox faith, for the week for Family, and the week against abortion.

Thankyou for posting, and I’ll remember her and her country in my prayers.

:clapping: Glory to Jesus Christ! God bless her abundantly, and may this week be fruitful! :byzsoc: :extrahappy:

God bless this Russian woman…and it is like we are beginning to see a restoration of life and its dignity among the Russian people…they have suffered very much, losing millions to pogroms and concentration camps, never to be seen again…

Someone said that some day Russia may help the world once its faith is restored…

I read this article and was glad that this Russian woman is identifying the damage abortion has done for her country. She exaults the family and mothers and fathers. This is excellent. I heard someone say once that Russian women usually have about 9 abortions.

I pray someday that someone will identify the importance of the healing of abortions.

BTW The Justice Foundation (justicefoundation.org) published a great letter of parents on how they must not force their pregnant family members to have an abortion. The law forbids it.
It will be a great handout to potential teens who go for abortions, should I say ones we see are DRAGGED for abortions by parents. 👍
