This is really bad news!

As reported on Holy Smoke: blogs.telegraph.co.uk/damian_thompson/blog/2009/04/02/abortion_is_a_blessing_and_abortionists_are_doing_holy_work_says_anglican_priest

The new Dean of the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massacusetts, has given a sermon describing abortions as a “blessing” for the women who undergo them. The Rev Katherine Hancock Ragsdale also thinks that the people who run abortion clinics are “heroes” and even “saints”.

Ms Ragsdale, speaking in Birmingham, Alabama, said that “when a woman becomes pregnant within a loving, supportive, respectful relationship; has every option open to her; decides she does not wish to bear a child; and has access to a safe, affordable abortion - there is not a tragedy in sight - only blessing.”

Here is the full text of her sermon. Do not, please, make the mistake of assuming that she is an unrepresentative extremist: liberal Anglicans in America are among the most fervent supporters of abortion in the world, outstripping even atheists in their enthusiasm for this gruesome procedure.

The Episcopal Church left the Gospels long ago. I’m not surprised by this. :o

TRULY SICK!

The “Rev.” Katherine Ragsdale, the New Dean of the Episcopal Divinity School is a sad excuse for a Divinity School Dean!! (She sounds more like a money grubbing abortionist baby killer than a woman of the cloth?? I guess they give the title “Reverend” to anyone who can pay for it these days!)

She says “If your conscience forbids you to carry arms, don’t join the military or become a police officer. If you have qualms about animal experimentation, think hard before choosing to go into medical research. And, **if you’re not prepared to provide the full range of reproductive health care **(or prescriptions) to any woman who needs it then don’t go into obstetrics and gynecology, or internal or emergency medicine, or pharmacology. Choose another field! We’ll respect your consciences when you begin to take responsibility for them.”

**So in other words, “Don’t help women if you aren’t willing to murder their innocent unborn babies for money!!!”
**
I love it, “the full range of reproductive health care??” The SLIMY, SCUM OF THE EARTH attorneys who work tirelessly for the billion dollar abortion industry never cease to amaze me with their creative marketing skills and their slick, word-smith abilities.

Calling abortion a part of " the full range of reproductive health care" is like calling the NAZI’S brutal and inexcusable murder of millions of innocent Jews "the full range of racial cleansing health care."

She says “abortion is a blessing.” I wonder if she would say that incredible lie if her own mother had decided to use her “freedom of choice” to give Rev. the “Blessing of abortion?”

Jesus said “O faithless and perverse generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you?” Mk 17:17

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, Ora Pro Nobis Peccatoribus!

Mark

Absolutely disgusting. Her hatred of the unborn is behavior unbecoming a Christian.

is she an episcopal priest or an anglican priest? if she is an episcopal priest it does not surprise me. i didn’t think that anglicans ordained women as priests or perhaps they don’t ordain them as bishops.

i am really glad i left the episcopal church long ago. it is really sad that she is the new dean of a school of divinity!!!

i wonder what the Pope will think when he hears this?!

the episcopal church has truly lost its way.

“For the time will come when you will say, ‘Blessed are the barren women’” - Jesus Christ (Luke 23:29)
I knew there was a passage that Christ predicted about this abortion situation somewhere in the gospels. It has just grown too large for Him not to have predicted this. I read and re-read this passage and couldn’t understand how it fit in…

…until now.

Abortion has become genocide and practically the whole world is committing horrible crimes against humanity… 😦 Yet who will put *them *on trial?

Judgment day is coming… let us all pray they repent before that time.

God Bless,
Snert

She is definitely an Episcopal “priest”.

In the US, most of the churches who have broken away from the Episcopal church refer to themselves as Anglican, to identify their roots in the Church of England.

Many of those, especially the “continuing churches” (continuing what was Anglican in say 1960) are very conservative, and still have an all male order of deacons, priests and bishops.

We also regard abortion as murder.

The Episcopal/Anglican Church has slowly been imploding for these past many years; it is very sad, but self inflicted.

The farther you get away from the Catholic Church, the farther you get away from the truth and salvation. She does not have the truth within her.

The Rev Katherine Hancock Ragsdale also thinks that the people who run abortion clinics are “heroes” and even “saints”.
Dr. Tiller will be so pleased. How many abortions are required for canonization? But then, he already offers chaplain services to women who wish to abort their babies.

As heinous and sinful as this position might be, I’m thinking enough rope: hanging self.

The Church of England (Anglican) does indeed “ordain” women to the “priesthood.” They haven’t gotten around to “ordaining” them as “bishops,” by there are measures already in motion to bring that about, via the Synod, their governing body. Here in the US, there are already several women “bishops,” including the “primate” of the Episcopal Church. Of course, the Catholic Church does not recognize the validity of Anglican orders anyway (the Archbishop of Canterbury does not hold valid orders any more than my rat terrier holds them). It is more proper to speak of them as an “ecclessial community.”

If you want the definition of “irony,” google the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusets, then from there go to to St. David’s Episcopal Church in Pepperell, MA. The church website has a picture of the “Rev.” Katherine HOLDING A BABY!!!

I was almost physically sick when I first read her article. After that though, my biggest question is what to do about it. I wrote their Dean of Spiritual and Vocational Development to point out Jesus would never advocate violence against anyone to solve a problem, particularly against the innocent unborn and questioned how her position fits into their mission statement "advance God’s mission of justice, compassion, and reconciliation. " Other than that, and pray, I have no idea what to do. Is there a way to contact their board who elected her and ask how this is compatible with their supposed mission?

I’m very sad that someone who calls themselves a Christian can openly advocate any abortion - particularly late term.

i was baptized and confirmed in the episcopal church, but departed from all churches for about 25 years. i returned to the episcopal church right about the time the controversy started with bishop gene robinson (i think that was his last name). i was totally lost about what was happening. i had no clue. i just felt an emptiness. i went to another episcopal church whose priests were wise enough to give us classes in to what was happening in the episcopal church and what was wrong with the church today and had been wrong for about 40 years. i joined a group that separated from the episcopal church to form an anglican church. i still had problems because they were still under the archbishop of canterbury and that was not acceptable to me. finally, i converted last year to catholicism.
i can’t even make myself read this article because these people who say things like this somehow act like they are smarter than everyone else or they have reached a higher level of consciousness and therefore, feel, somehow, they are speaking these words of wisdom for all of us to listen to and tell ourselves or lie to ourselves, yeah, that is so true. the episcopal church is deceptive in calling itself a church. it would be better to call it a country club and the only requirement for membership is you can profess whatever you want to profess. if you want to say you are muslim and christian, that is okay. if you want to be buddhist and a priest, that is okay. anything goes! this is the ultimate betrayal and i think this woman should be removed as dean immediately, but what i think doesn’t really matter.

With the Abortion Pride Movement in full swing, though, can anyone really be surprised?

Try googling or yahooing it—it is just what it says: It encourages women to have abortions and treats them as heroes for doing so.

The Murderer’s Pride movement can’t be far off.
