Abortion rates are generally dropping from a peak of near 30% in the late 70’s early 80’s to about 20% today. Education is the key, more education means more control of unplanned pregnancy.

Just to help put some perspective on what seems like a small gain (1%)…

1.21 million abortions were performed in 2008 per this CNN article:
pagingdrgupta.blogs.cnn.com/2011/01/11/abortion-rate-stalls-after-decade-long-decline/?hpt=T2

an increase of 1% on 1.21 million is 12,100. That’s twelve thousand one hundred babies MORE that never got the chance to take their first breath than in years past. Total of 1.21 MILLION babies died in 2008 alone. Congrats pro-abortionists What happened to the RARE in the “SAFE, LEGAL and RARE” slogan.

Imagine the news articles if an additional 12,100 children died last year because of ANY other cause? We RAGE about some toy that had a flaw and kills a couple kids (a tragedy, no question). We discuss preventing toys and food coming in from China because of a few examples of safety issues (not to underplay these issues, they should be addressed). Yet we kill 12,100 more babies and its no big deal.

One of my favorite sayings regarding abortion is “that if they were doing that to animals the animal rights activists would be marching around the White House and the press would be with them”. It’s difficult for me to believe what people believe about abortion – they don’t seem to regard it as “killing” a baby – why not?
I pray each and every day that the abortion rate would go down – hopefully we all should pray for this. Incidentally, is the March for Life this month taking place in most cities???

If the stats are correct, it’s no wonder they are rising. Has anyone looked at the most recent boycott published by Life Decisions International to see the corporate sponsers of Planned Parenthood. Got any bayer aspirin in your medicine chest, buy gas at Chevron, or eat at Olive Garden? Did you put your extra change in the bucket for the Salvation Army at Christmas when you heard the bell ringing? We are all unwittingly donating to the anti-life cause and you cannot go into a store without seeing a product on the shelf that displays the logo of the “Pink Ribbon.”

It deeply saddens me to witness the amount of people that continue to buy the lie about abortion “rights”, and I cannot understand how we as a nation can even tolerate this injustice so long. It’s an absolute horror.

Tigg: Thank you for pointing me in the direction of Life Decisions! I had such a difficult time finding information about supporters of Planned Parenthood. Especially around Chrismas there are so many charities trying to get donations and I just avoided all of them because I couldn’t find their stances on life issues.

I think it’s no surprise. Abortions are going to bump up with economic downturns.

Yes, we too, avoid most major charities like the American Cancer Society and American Diabetes Assn. because they have received a dishonorable mention for connections to PP. And sadly, we avoid many Catholic “charities” under the banner of social justice because they have funded political groups advocating for abortion.

You think that’s bad? Abortions here are tax payer funded, there’s no way you can avoid the chance that your taxes are funding some woman’s 1st, 2nd, maybe 5th abortion!

The govt. won’t pay for adrenline epi-pens to save a person’s life, but they’ll fund the murder of a child because he could cause “serious mental distress” to the mother?

The glass is half empty part of me says its going to get worse, Christ said it was going to get worse in the end times. We’re in teh end times, whether we have another 100 years on the clock or another 10,000 I don’t know, but its not going to be a bed of roses, so all we can do is what we can.

In this country, Planned Parenthood receives $300 million per year in grants from the federal government and most analysts say abortions will be funded under Obama’s healthcare bill, despite claims to the contrary.
