Will I have to talk to him about this in confession or just a personal talk

Tearing a baby apart( that is how abortions are done) causes excruciating pain and is barbarically cruel. If you did that to an animal you would be arrested for cruelty, but you think it is fine to do it to a little baby?
Sick.

I said I’m sorry . I’m still learning . I’m only 17 but I just wanted to get clarity . I’m sorry

Okay fine everyone I’m sorry I even asked this question . Sorry
No, it is really good that you are thinking about these issues and asking questions. You are actively seeking the truth, and it is necessary for you to do so. Don’t stop seeking the truth!
But then I wouldn’t be able to face him [the priest] because he would think I’ll [ill] of me because abortion is bad
If you talked with a priest, I hope he would be glad you asked and glad to answer your questions. That’s part of his job.

I know of a similar case, wherein the priest advice the mom as you said. Unfortunately, both end up dying; which for me, is even more tragic. I don’t think this is God’s will either.

Sorry to disagree.

NB. I’m not, in anyway, in favour of abortion. GOD forbid.

Shalom! 😇😇😇

I am sorry that so many CAF members are so harsh. Be patient with them. They mean well. To them, it seems so obvious that abortion is really that bad, and maybe they forgot what it was like when they didn’t know. Keep on asking those questions!

Thankyou. I don’t blame them though . They have every right to be mad .

Okay thanks . I’ll go for confession tomorrow evening after my youth group meeting and spill the beans to father

We are not mad at you: don’t take what seems to be harsh answers personally. We Catholics battle the issue of abortion and pray about it continually; it is, of course, a huge cultural battle right now. In short, we don’t take it lightly as it is a deeply serious matter. Your job as a Catholic–all of our jobs–is to keep educating ourselves. At 17, it doesn’t sound like you’ve had much Catholic education. I hope you can start to study and pray about this issue.

I recently started learning about the church properly about a year ago after a priest in my confirmation retreat changed my whole perspective of Catholicism

Plus I come from a country where less than 2% of the population are Christians let alone catholic. So at times it gets difficult to get first hand information

Wow. I admire your courage. God bless you and your efforts to grow in your faith. Hope we can be a positive support. :hugs:😘

Likewise, but that doesn’t bother me at all.

In fact, I even find more opportunities to share God’s love to others through my deeds (not by words alone).
