Yes, abortion is a sollution with regards to a raped child or woman ending a pregnancy.

If a woman wants an abortion, it’s her body…it’s her right. The embryo isn’t a baby, no matter how much you call it a baby…it’s not.
You poor, poor soul.

Abortion is murder

Life begins at conception

Your body doesn’t belong to you as my body doesn’t belong to me. It belongs to the one who created it - God.

You poor, poor soul.

Situational ethics is a cheap play to emotions.

Of all abortions, how many are done by women who have been raped?

Yet Zatzat in his argument speaks only of ‘13 year olds raped by their fathers’.

And he does conveniently ignore the fact that it is a PERSON who is aborted, by trying to turn it into a ‘lesser’ word. "Embryo or fetus’ make one sound so scientific, and we all know that scientists are trustworthy souls who are not ‘blinded by dogma’. They are so smart. They would not be ‘brainwashed’.

Does the ‘embryo or fetus’ of a woman ever develop into anything other than a human being over the course of a normal pregnancy?

What is the ‘magic’ date where a person becomes a person? Viability outside the womb? Why? Suppose an unborn child is 19 weeks, 6 days, 23 hours and 59 minutes old. .somepose another is 20 weeks exactly. The first is within 1 minute of surviving outside the womb. But only the second, who could ‘live’ outside the womb with that ‘extra minute’ is a ‘person’. What happened in that one ‘magic minute’ to make the second infant ‘worthy of life’ but not the first?

A hypothetical scenario;

You have a female acquaintance and you just found out that she had an abortion. This female lives in a state where abortion is illegal. However, the woman lives beside a state that has legalized abortion.

Upon hearing the news, would you rather hear that;

A). The woman sought an illegal back alley abortion.

B). The woman sought a legal abortion in a modern health care facility.

Discuss.
I thought about this long and hard. We’re operating under the assumption that the modern health care facility is much safer, right? I would choose B, I would want her to be safer. There is no sense in wanting even more hurt to come to her.

This is like asking if I would want someone to buy their cocaine from a an illegal back alley cocaine dealer or a legal store where it was sold. I would rather them buy it from the store, where it is less likely to be contaminated with something deadly (deadlier than cocaine, anyway).but I still vehemently want cocaine, and abortions, to be illegal.

The questions of the OP have long since been abandoned.
Apparently the majority in this thread saw through to the truth of what was being said rather then the deception of the OP.
👍👍

Yeppers!!! A poor deception

👍 Ditto.

Remember how black men were ‘3/5 of a person’ legally in earlier U.S. history? People don’t like to remember that, but they have no trouble whatsoever seeking to call an unborn child a ‘non-person’ or just trying to bypass by calling the child ‘embryo’ or ‘fetus’.

Kind of like calling a black man or woman the names that they were called (racial slurs that I will not dignify by repeating). By giving them such names, they were 'depersonalized. However, did they ‘become’ not-people just because they were not ‘termed’ people? I think not.

You probably won’t get answered

Per the CDC the number of abirtions due to rape or incest is 3/10 of 1% of the total number of abortions every year, That .00333333333333% for those who werent taught fractions in school.

Fantastic, you tackled the question head on…no word games, no dancing…you just answered it!👍

Right. So that means that Zatzat is making his play for the ‘shades of gray’ about 3/10 of 1% of cases.

And even in this case (in which I reiterate all my sympathy is with the victim), how in God’s name are we making things’ BETTER" for her by having her kill her child?

How are we making things better for the CHILD?

How is abortion in any way whatsoever dealing with the RAPIST? Is it punishing HIM? Is it deterring him? Is the killing of an innocent child justified based on the actions of its FATHER?

You mean she gave the answer you wanted to hear.

Those who gives answers you don’t care for are the ones accused of ‘word games’ and dancing’ and ‘not answering’ and being ‘blinded by dogma’.

Well, at least you’ve managed to make your bias quite clear.

Seeing shades of grey simply means that I recognize that in the real world, things don’t all fit neatly into little ideological boxes.
No one claimed otherwise. Perhaps you should have stuck with the question posed in the OP.

What is claimed is that abortion is a black and white issue.
It recognizes that 13 year olds who’ve been raped by their father or uncle, have a right to determine what happens to their bodies…including obtaining an abortion to end a pregnanc pregnancy.
13 year olds…
What about 12? Or 15?
That line you just drew in the sand seems pretty black and white.
A woman has the right to determine if her body is going to carry a baby or not.
I see no grey to your position whatsoever now.
You clearly dilineated the unborn as having no right to life at all.
It recognizes that without access to safe abortions in health care facilities, women, especially the marginalized, will be forced into the hands of charlatons in the back alley’s of the nation.
Another demonstration of grey?
Seems pretty defined to me.

But you missed something…women are already “forced into the hands of charlatons” with every abortion.

I wonder if you are tacking the question head on or just skimming to find the answer you are looking for? There where many many thoughtful response that you pushed aside. You have only given a thumbs up or an approved reply to those who have answered the way you wanted them to.

Can you try to be a little thoughtful, or is this also part of your gray area?

I have a question for you Zatzat. If that woman were about to murder you would you rather she use a knife that is not contaminated with a germ that could kill her or would you rather she chose a clean knife?

Annie

Let me elaborate.

When I first looked at the question I thought, “well obviously, a clinic, because its safer” and then I realized exactly what the question was about. Its to get you to think, “if people are going to do it anyway, shouldn’t it be legal so that it can be regulated?” Its like the argument for legalizing drugs, as I already said. Its also like one of the arguments for assisted suicide. “If peopel are going to kill themselves anyway, wouldn’t you rather it be in a clinic where its safe?”

But if it doesn’t end at drugs, killing your unborn child, killing yourself, where DOES it end? Killing other people? Rape? I don’t know.

This question doesn’t really bother me because I don’t feel like it tricks me into saying I think abortion should be legal or anything like that.

Anne’s question gets to the heart of the matter. “If that woman were about to murder you would you rather she use a knife that is not contaminated with a germ that could kill her or would you rather she chose a clean knife?”

Its a choice between two completely undesirable scenarios. I would choose the safer one, the clean knife. But that doesn’t mean I think the government should make murdering people legal so that everyone can murder with clean knives instead of dirty ones.

And by the way, Thank you Zatzat.

Wow, the type of answer I’d expect from a follower of Jesus. 👍
Aww thanks Zatzat 🙂

But I’m curious, are you going to answer the questions yourself and tell us what you would prefer? I apologize if you already did that earlier in the thread…I just don’t feel like wading though all the venom, bile and off-topic posts. 😉

But I’m curious, since you seem to not be able to keep this thread on topic, I may as well go off topic as well: Does your hypothetical acquaintance believe abortion is sinful? or does she believe it’s an elective procedure without consequence? Do you think she would need the care of a friend after this? what would you do to take care of your hypothetical acquaintance after you found out she had the abortion? What would you say to her to help her heal? Or does she not even need to heal? What is your part in this, given that you are made aware of her choice and her actions? Or do you not have a part in it, and why?

I have more, but these are enough for you to chew on right now 🙂 After you answer them, if you choose to, then I’ll ask more if it’s okay with you.

We don’t know, she’s just an acquaintance. She may, but we don’t know for sure. Seeing as she’s just an acquaintance and not a friend, I wouldn’t bring it up unless she did. I don’t know her well enough to know if she needs to heal. I don’t have a part in it, as - found out after the fact.

I’d be happy to hear she jumped the border and received abortion in a health care facility.

IMHO, there was only one attempting to play word games, here:rolleyes:
This seems to be the case by a previous post he made that got removed by the moderators. In which he asked “Condoms, what would you rather she do…”

As soon as it got removed, so here we go again with “Abortion. would you rather she…”

I think someone will believe what they want to believe no matter the opinions of every human being in the whole world.

“whatever is received is received according to the mode of the receiver,”

in other words, you get what you’re ready to get and no more.

How did you find out about it exactly?
