I have resolved all the other issues in my long-desperate life. What remains is the pain and grief over an abortion I had 21 years ago. I still cry. I eat my insides out. I have been through Project Rachel counseling TWICE. I think of Our Lord’s words, “the crime of murder will drive a man to an early grave,” and the Lord keeps telling me “You’re dying.” My health is poor, especially my sexual health.

I trust in Jesus’ mercy. My first Project Rachel counselor immediately gave me the Diary of Sister M Faustina Kowalska, now saint, to read, and I pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet frequently.

I trust that He may not put me in Hell for this. But I do fear for my son and my ex-husband, and for myself, in this life.

Please pray for me.

😦 I don’t think the Lord would want you to sink into despair - that is why He offers full and free forgiveness to those who repent. If He had wanted us to feel wretched about our sins our entire lives, He would have said so - but He didn’t.

I hope you start feeling better 🙂

I will pray for you. Have you given your child a name?

I will be praying for you but please, forgive yourself. God’s mercy is infinite and he never says no to a truly repented heart. If you have God’s forgiveness why don’t you forgive yourself? Forgiving your own self is very important. Also the above poster mentioned giving your child a name. I agree. I know priests who have done spiritual baptisms and named the child and that has helped the mother to heal. Talk with your priest about this it may be helpful to you. Also involving yourself in the pro life movement giving your testimony and helping other women will help you tremendously.

Dear one, reading your post put tears in my eyes. I can only imagine your heartache. I am so very sorry for your loss, for your hurt, for your suffering. Please consider Catholicism as the one True faith—through the Sacraments, we have Reconciliation. It is the best medicine for all of us.

My heart and prayers are with you. I just wish I could reach through the computer screen and hug you. Please trust that Our Lady holds your infant son in her arms. She is everyone’s mother, and loves tenderly. She also loves you tenderly as a mother loves a daughter. Don’t be afraid to ask for her prayers. At Christ’s first miracle, the couple ran out of wine and Christ said it was not his time to begin his ministry. But Mary interceded, didn’t she? She told the servants, “Do whatever He tells you”. It didn’t matter to her that Christ said no. She convinced him to do it anyway. That is what she does for us. She is a wonderful, loving, tender mother and friend who intercedes on our behalf. Much love to you. I hope this somehow gives you at least an ounce of comfort.

Trust in God’s forgiveness, which you have certainly sought by your post. It seems you have done everything you can to have His help, and if you have been forgiven in Confession you are indeed forgiven.

I will pray for you. There are so many women in your place because they felt there was no other option. Hopefully in time there will be enough help out there for others that this sort of desperation does not drive them in the direction of an abortion. You could offer prayers of that nature to help yourself a bit. Do you volunteer for any groups that help women with unexpected pregnancies? That could be a source of assistance to you.

We’ll pray for you.

This is a great group to get involved with for post Abortion as well…

silentnomoreawareness.org/

They show up strong at the march for life and it is very inspiring that we can win the battle - of souls.

Know that God loves you and invites you to be with Him.

God Bless.

Praying for your comfort and for you to fully accept the forgiveness God has for you.

I didn’t understand what you meant when you said the Lord keeps telling you, “You’re dying”.

Have you gone to confession? Have you honestly and truly repented?

As to yourself, if you have repented, confessed, received absolution, you absolutely MUST go on with your life! If you have done all this, God’s forgiven you, and it isn’t right for you to continue worrying about this, doubting his mercy. Worry is a lack of faith in God, his mercy, his forgiveness. Trust! He’s forgiven you.

What did Divine Mercy say, “Jesus, I trust in you”. If you do, you’ll stop doubting he has forgiven you. Trust in his mercy and forgiveness. So now, go and sin no more.

Will you experience regret? Of course, but it’s not good, or healthy, to keep worrying.
Worry is NOT a good thing. Satan would love for us to believe we have a sin which is too great for even God to forgive, to give up, lose all hope, faith.

God has given us himself in his passion for the forgiveness of sins for those who are truly repentant and seek him out.

If you have already repented and confessed, now it’s only a matter of putting this behind you. You made a mistake, but in your defense, you have done all you can to undo the damage, never do it again, and encourage others not to make this same mistake.

Let it go, now. It’s like St. Padre Pio said, “Pray and don’t worry”.

Hail Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blest is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen. :gopray:

Praying for you. Post-abortion guilt is very common. Even Alveda King (MLK’s niece) had an abortion but was not fully informed as to what she was doing. She’s with the Silent no More campaign now listed above. Was going to refer you to Project Rachel folks but you’re already working with them. Maybe “A Heart for Freedom” might help (Chai Ling’s book and/or audiobook). Chai Ling was one of the leaders of the freedom fighters associated with the democracy movement in China. Post-abortive guilt and forgiveness/mercy is covered in her book (trying not to spoil the plot). Divine Mercy message from St. Faustina’s Diary will help-I read that from cover to cover and loved every page. God’s mercy is infinite as long as we can confess our sins. God bless!

Praying for your son and ex-husband. Also praying for strength for you and that your trust in the Lord may see you through this.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen

I’m praying for you. Have you gone to confession? Your sins will be forgiven. Keep in touch with such programs as Rachel’s Vineyard an Silent No More. These are very loving and supportive groups. Remember God loves you, no matter what. He is all merciful. Just return to his loving arms he’s waiting for you.
