I have resolved all the other issues in my long-desperate life. What remains is the pain and grief over an abortion I had 21 years ago. I still cry. I eat my insides out. I have been through Project Rachel counseling TWICE. I think of Our Lord’s words, “the crime of murder will drive a man to an early grave,” and the Lord keeps telling me “You’re dying.” My health is poor, especially my sexual health.
I trust in Jesus’ mercy. My first Project Rachel counselor immediately gave me the Diary of Sister M Faustina Kowalska, now saint, to read, and I pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet frequently.
I trust that He may not put me in Hell for this. But I do fear for my son and my ex-husband, and for myself, in this life.
Please pray for me.
I didn’t understand what you meant when you said the Lord keeps telling you, “You’re dying”.
Have you gone to confession? Have you honestly and truly repented?
As to yourself, if you have repented, confessed, received absolution, you absolutely MUST go on with your life! If you have done all this, God’s forgiven you, and it isn’t right for you to continue worrying about this, doubting his mercy. Worry is a lack of faith in God, his mercy, his forgiveness. Trust! He’s forgiven you.
What did Divine Mercy say, “Jesus, I trust in you”. If you do, you’ll stop doubting he has forgiven you. Trust in his mercy and forgiveness. So now, go and sin no more.
Will you experience regret? Of course, but it’s not good, or healthy, to keep worrying.
Worry is NOT a good thing. Satan would love for us to believe we have a sin which is too great for even God to forgive, to give up, lose all hope, faith.
God has given us himself in his passion for the forgiveness of sins for those who are truly repentant and seek him out.
If you have already repented and confessed, now it’s only a matter of putting this behind you. You made a mistake, but in your defense, you have done all you can to undo the damage, never do it again, and encourage others not to make this same mistake.
Let it go, now. It’s like St. Padre Pio said, “Pray and don’t worry”.
Hail Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blest is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
