This would be a great time to defund Planned Parenthood and divert those funds to the Corona Virus battle.

But then again . . . It’s always a good time to defund Planned Parenthood in my opinion.

Abortions continue as Massachusetts hospitals forbid ‘non-essential’ procedures

Hospitals in Massachusetts are ordered to cancel any ‘nonessential, elective invasive procedure’ to free up resources to fight the coronavirus — but abortions will continue as before.

Well yeah. Abortion may be an elective procedure … but the “elective” some politicians care about is the kind that purged the last pro-life Democrat* from the House of Representatives.
  • Even though Dan Lipinski still voted to impeach Trump!
With the Coronavirus crisis this bad … you’d think it’d be a better idea to close all the abortion clinics and repurpose them … and the “doctors” running them … to better ends.

Which’d be just about anything.

Sigh. Some people pray to their higher power.

Some have always offered human sacrifices to … theirs.

Well, as since coronavirus wasn’t killing as many babies as old people, the politicians in charge needed to do something about that.

I’m from MA and sometime last year, lawmakers decided it was a good idea to remove all legal restrictions on abortion to the point where parents were removed from the legal process to obtain an abortion. Of course, with a Democratic super majority, what else is new in my state?

States across the country put a halt to elective surgery to save medical resources for fighting the Chinese coronavirus outbreak, but Massachusetts is making sure women can end the lives of their unborn children without impediment.

The Massachusetts Department of Health issued a statement:
DPH defines nonessential, elective invasive procedures as procedures that are scheduled in advance because the procedure does not involve a medical emergency . . .
. . . The New Boston Post reported on the development:
The statement does not explain why abortions are exempted from the ban. A spokesman for the state’s public health agency acknowledged a request for comment from New Boston Post early Wednesday afternoon, but did not immediately provide one.
Among the surgical procedures deemed “nonessential” by the state’s public health agency are:
  • Knee replacement
  • Hip replacement
  • Excision of cancerous skin lesions
  • Colonoscopy
  • Tooth Extraction
  • Removal of Ingrown Toenail
  • Kidney stone lithotripsy (a procedure that breaks down kidney stones)
The Post noted that the abortion industry, which has ended the lives of more than 60 million unborn babies since the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision made abortion on demand the law of the land, are pleased with the decision, including Planned Parenthood of Massachusetts.

NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts said in a statement:
We thank the Baker Administration for working to preserve continued access to the full spectrum of reproductive health care, including abortion . . . .
. . . But Andrew Beckwith, president of the Massachusetts Family Institute, is outraged by the decision, the Post reported.

“Planned Parenthood’s priority is to keep killing babies even when the whole world is focused on saving as many lives as possible right now, and they’ve even managed to convince the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to prioritize elective abortions during the current health crisis,” . . .

For something always described as a choice, it would seem to by definition be elective…

I think that tends to be the case where adolescents are granted medical autonomy. Getting vaccines or std treatments without parental consent goes along with it.
