Abortions Rose Slightly in 2007, But CDC Report Incomplete

More children were aborted in the U.S. (in reporting states) in 2008 than in 2007. “Among the 49 reporting areas that provided data for 2008, a total of 825,564 abortions were reported.” (page 3) In 2007, the total number of abortions as reported by the CDC was 810,582, an increase of close to 15,000.

Isn’t it rediculous that the federal government is consistently 3 years behind in their reporting of abortion stats?

The number one reason for abortion is economics. The child’s father won’t support the mother and with the elimination of welfare payments to mothers and being so small mothers aren’t going to live in the ghetto trying to raise babies.

I would argue the number one reason is a decline in responsibility leading to unplanned pregnancy and the lack of dignity that society has for marriage and human life. Economics is the excuse, not the cause …
