Blessings to all here. 🙂 I wanted to post this in the Ask an Apologist forum but don’t have the posts needed to do be able to do so. So I will ask it here. I am feeling alittle burnt out in my devotional life and want to simplify. I still of course have my devotions like praying the Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet… those I will never give up. But I consecrated myself to Our Lady through the Miraculous Medal and no longer feel called to wear the Miraculous Medal. I am now wearing a St Benedict crucifix and everytime I put on the Miraculous Medal again I feel drawn to wear my St. Benedict crucifix pendant yet again. It is a very strong interior desire.

I am looking to stop having so many devotions and just keep it to praying only devotions that can be said on a rosary… like the Chaplet of Divine Mercy or the chaplet to the Sacred Heart etc… I am feeling burnt out by having so many different chaplets and other devotions.

I know many will say “How can you stop wearing the Miraculous Medal? Its Our Lady?” but like I said I feel intensely drawn to wear my St Benedict crucifix pendant and I want to be released of my consecration to Our Lady through the Miraculous Medal. Can I do this through a priest? I am devoted to Our Lady of Fatima and do prayers of Reparation to console the hearts of Jesus and Mary.

This post is getting too long but I can assure everyone that I love Our Lady and she can never be honored enough. I am just being honest.

If anyone can help me out with this or there is a priest that sees this and can counsel me on this I would appreciate it.

Thank you and God bless

You can either get a 4 way medal and wear both or you can tell Our Lady and Jesus what you just said and trust in God’s mercy.
The medal is a personal devotion. You don’t get zapped by a lightning bolt if you take it off.

Its not simply about the wearing of the Miraculous medal. I consecrated myself to Our Lady through this medal. I feel guilty that I did the consecration several years back but no longer feel the desire spiritually to be consecrated through the medal. Its not scrupulously about being doomed if I don’t wear it.

Thanks for your post. God bless.
