I’ve never heard of the guy, but it’s usually not difficult to determine an author’s perspective by looking at the publishers who distribute his work.

If you go to Amazon and look at his writings, you will see they are distributed by publishing houses such as Oxford, Tyndale, and Moody. These are all protestant publishing houses, so I think it’s safe to assume that Earle Cairns writes from a protestant perspective.

I just stumbled across a little more info - a reviewer of one of Cairns’ books on Amazon claims “Earle E. Cairns is professor emeritus at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.” Wheaton is an Evangelical protestant liberal arts college. Wheaton is not very tolerant of Catholic beliefs - the college garnered some controversy in 2004 when it dismissed Joshua Hochschild (an assistant professor of philosophy) because he had converted to Catholicism.

thanks guys for your response. my cousin is a Catholic and he is fascinated by earle’s book. christianity…

my cousin recommended this guy’s book for me to read it. don’t worry i know better. i just did not know how to approach the issue with my cousin.

God bless.
