Is it true that if your holy water in a bottle is about to finish you can fill it with new water and it will become a whole new bottle of holy water?

Also, may I ask how do you bless yourself with holy water?

Thanks.

To my understanding, it has to be at least 1/2 with original.
Also, may I ask how do you bless yourself with holy water?
Step 1: Place hand in front of you.
Step 2: Press pointer and middle fingers together. (Optional: add index finger.)
Step 3: Make downwards motion with hands towards holy water, fingertips emtering first.
Step 4: Make upwards motion with hand, keep fingers together.
Step 5: Move elbow to form 90° angle. Move hand upwards.
Step 6: Rotate shoulder and bring hand to head, fingertips touching middle of the forehead.
Step 7: Using elbow, move hands downwards and touch fingertips to sternum.
Step 8: Use right shoulder to move arm left and touch fingertips to left clavicle.
Step 9: Bring elbow back to 90° and touch right clavicle with fingertips.
(Reverse motions of steps 8 and 9 in Eastern Rites.)

(So essentially, dip hand into holy water and make the sign of the cross.)

Step 2: Press pointer and middle fingers together
In that case, I have been doing it for many times without knowing that I am actually doing it. Except I use my thumb instead of fingers. And I make a mini cross on my forehead, my chest, my left shoulder, then right shoulder instead of a dab. It sounds cute but yeah.

What are the benefits of blessing yourself with holy water?

Holy water is a sacramental, it provides a blessing to you who use it.

It’s primary use is to remind you of your baptism upon entering a Catholic Church.

Draw near to Him whom you seek,
Deacon Christopher
