I have seen the photo and I have to say that lying on one’s stomach does not at all fit the description in the Bible of “
falling on one’s face” which is how the Biblical Prophets (peace be upon them all) prostrated to their Lord.
How would someone “
fall on his face” if he is already in a prone position?.. It really does not make much sense since to “
fall” would mean to do so from an upright or sitting position.
Where in the Bible does it describes the Prophets praying to the Lord by lying on their stomachs?
And on a related note, here is a hadith concerning the practice of lying on one’s stomach:
Ya’ish ibn Tikhfa al-Ghifari said, “My father said, ‘Once while I was lying on my stomach in the mosque, a man moved me with his foot and said, “This is a position which Allah hates.”’” He said, “I looked up and it was the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.” …
