Is it a sin to were you remember a scene were a person says the lords name in vain and you replay it in your head.

I dont think it is. I think its just scrupulosity or whatever…

You answered your own question right.

MG… This happens to all of us. Thoughts about things you may have seen/heard in the past… that weren’t good or wholesome… can “replay” in your head for a long time, after. That’s why it’s so important for us… to guard our eyes, ears and minds. Especially our eyes. They are the “lamps” of our soul… and will one day, behold God. I would encourage all… to be very careful about the movies or television shows you watch. There’s a lot of filth out there now.

But if a thought (such as you mentioned) does pass through your head, it is not sinful… of itself. It only becomes a sin, if somehow… we were to think of it… and then act on it, in a sinful way.

When an unpleasant thought occurs to me… I will usually say a “Glory Be to the Father”… sometimes, I say many of them… in rapid succession. And the enemy (being a coward) will usually stop the assault. Hope this helps. God bless.

The next question is …would it be sinful to keep watching the movie where cursing and/or calling God in vain are being repeated many times?

Confucius said “Do not watch impoliteness, do not listen to impoliteness.“

We can replace the word “impoliteness” with “blasphemy”.
Why would we want to watch anything like that?

yes, but my preist said you can watch anything as long as it doesnt cause you to sin.

You are trying to keep your feet out of hot water just enough
so you don’t get burned. That is the hard way.
The easy way is to actively pursue good.👍

I think I would probably want to pray for my priest, if he had said this to me. I don’t think it’s good advice. Because for some people (not saying you, MG… but some people)… this could be a green light to watch/listen to materials which are not healthy.

St. Gemma Galgani’s Guardian Angel once told her, in a vision:

“Remember to guard thine eyes and reflect that the mortified eye shall behold the beauties of Heaven”.

Now, there’s some great advice! 👍
