Petra. The commercials you have seen are for a condition that affects the blind. It is essentially that their sleep patterns are totally messed up. I think is is called non-24.I’ve seen commercials about Blind 24/7… and I was wondering–do blind people see ANYTHING inside their minds? I know it sounds funny, I don’t mean to make a joke or be insensitive. Sometimes in the dark with my eyes closed I see shapes a little lighter than the “dark”. I’m not blind, though. Just wondering?

I understand about that non-24. It just came to my mind as I was writing about my question and I thought others might identify… I’ve learned so much from you guys already…Petra. They may be dead tired at noon and wide awake at 3:00 a.m., essentially causing them to be handicapped in their efforts to integrate with society in a normal rhythm.
If I have this wrong, other posters, please correct.

So neat about that student!Interesting. I only know one person that was born completely blind. The other people I know became blind over time. I used to have a student that was born without eyes, but he was actually able to see light and colors, though they had no form. He had clear glass balls in his eye sockets, so his optic nerve could still pick up light and color. His OT specialist trained him to walk through the building by seeing the red exit lights. He could tell what direction he was facing by turning and if the light got brighter, he knew he was facing the right way. It was amazing to watch. He could even read the noise monitor in his teacher’s classroom! (It changed color when they kids not too noisy)
Can’t watch you tubes. Got something with the written word?

I know what a NDE is, but how does that relate to being blind?near-death.com/science/evidence/people-born-blind-can-see-during-nde.html
NDE = near-death-experience
Allegedly, blind people who went into NDE were able to see during this experience, though not before or afterward.I know what a NDE is, but how does that relate to being blind?
That’s a big allegedly.Allegedly, blind people who went into NDE were able to see during this experience, though not before or afterward.

Thank you - you worded that better than I would have. That’s a big allegedly.
Like alien abduction allegedly
I have no problem believing that a blind person could see and be given increased understanding in a NDE.That’s a big allegedly.

A near death experience is nothing more than being deprived of oxygen & almost dying. That happened to me. It isn’t spiritual at all, unless you consider almost dying a spiritual experience. I suppose most people do, as we don’t want a repeat.I have no problem believing that a blind person could see and be given increased understanding in a NDE.
This blind person’s testimony has similarities to NDE of seeing people.
Yes. NDE’s are silly. Theologically they make no sense. I have NDE’s every night. Some involve a unicorn, Donald trump in my mother’s blue dress and Taylor Swift playing a guitar made out of a gourd.A near death experience is nothing more than being deprived of oxygen & almost dying. Man, you almost make me wish I could dream! I rarely do - & they’re pretty mundane.Yes. NDE’s are silly. Theologically they make no sense. I have NDE’s every night. Some involve a unicorn, Donald trump in my mother’s blue dress and Taylor Swift playing a guitar made out of a gourd.
In college… a long long time ago… I was fascinated with dreams. So I was actually involved a dream study for those crazy psychology folks…Man, you almost make me wish I could dream! I rarely do - & they’re pretty mundane.
I was pretty sure it was a joke - but dreams can be fun. On the rare occasions I do dream, it has to be pretty dramatic to remember. Usually I wake up with a feeling that something nice happened, but can’t remember what. And it’s still erratic…
Btw that was a joke about the unicorn etc.
I had sleep paralysis as a teenager and I found it to be terrifying. It went away as I got older.I was pretty sure it was a joke - but dreams can be fun. Have you ever had sleep paralysis? It’s happened to me twice - & I hope never again! Even tho I knew what it was as it was happening, those were 2 of the worst “dreams” I’ve ever had.
It’s amazing how our brains & bodies work together. This article is about how the lymphatic system works while we sleep - preferentially on our sides! washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/when-scientists-saw-the-mouse-heads-glowing-they-knew-the-discovery-was-big/2017/05/19/f33cc574-246a-11e7-a1b3-faff0034e2de_story.html?wpisrc=nl_p1most-partner-1&wpmm=1
