About the kneelers

I’ve been going to Mass for the first time in many years, I went when I attended Catholic school. What I’m unsure of is, what is said at the kneeler. I noticed most people when first coming in sit down and then use the kneeler for a couple minutes. Is there a specific prayer that is said or just an opening prayer of a more ‘personal’ note.

Thanks be to God that you have begun going to Mass again. 🙂

Kneeling in the pew before Mass is just a time for personal prayer. You may pray from a prayerbook or just pray from your heart. It is a good time to ask God to prepare you for Mass, to help you pay attention, etc. There is no specific prayer that has to be said.
