I think we are dealing with issues much more deeper and complex for the human mind to comprehend. It will take God Himself or more precisely The Holy Spirit to help us and give to us the mind to help us understand each other and to help us come together. The Holy Spirit is necessary for us to understand the Mind and Will of God. It is through His Understanding that we can arrive to a better understanding of ourselves and hopefully for each other. I believe other Christian groups as yourselves are truly in Christ Jesus and you need not my approval but only God’s. I believe just because we are slightly different in our interpretation in the dogmas and doctrines of our Churches does not mean we do not have the same Holy Spirit. You and I and the rest of the Catholic and Orthodox world including the Oriental Orthodox and the Chalcedonian Orthodox all belong to the same Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not a Spirit of division. He brings people together and through that same Holy Spirit is the acceptance of who the other is. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit which brings forth the Communion of Love, words spoken by a great and holy man, Matthew the Poor. It is this that we must find ourselves engage in, the Communion of Love. I find disputes not worth their weight in engaging into. St.Paul warns us in his Epistles not to engage in useless disputes of genealogies that families tend to get into. He warned the Churches not to imitate this type of behaviour for it is the opposite of what God Desires and opposes the action of the Holy Spirit. If families can be split up easily because of these useless disputes how much more the Churches of God if they enter into disputes of genealogies. St.Paul warns us not to imitate this type of behaviour. I reckon we are all the same before God. Let us then imitate Him. We can then see in each other and to accept each other much better than we are doing now. I apologize for my paragraphs. I am learning about this too.Wow. That is a big wall of text, DavidKays. Might I suggest in a friendly manner that breaking up your thoughts into paragraphs makes them easier to read.
Anyway, on the general topic: I think one reason why Orthodox Christians such as Mickey and others may feel compelled to respond to this topic is because from an Orthodox perspective, the entire focus is off. The Orthodox don’t really deal in “validity”. To discuss things in these terms effectively recasts the Orthodox Church in the Latin die, making any judgment rendered thereafter somewhat less than consequential.
But enough of that, on to the important stuff: What part of the body do the Oriental Orthodox get? Do they have to occupy a different organ entirely due to their different Christological conception that is not shared among you and the Chalcedonian Orthodox? There are less of them than the Chalcedonians…does that mean they get a smaller organ? A kidney? Maybe both kidneys? It could be rather cave-like in there, in comparison to the more spacious lungs (that’s right, Greeks and Russians! You don’t know how good you have it! Quit your complaining! закрыть!). That could be good…the Ethiopians are used to it, as are the Egyptians…they could set up a nice monastery…“Deir al-Kilwy”…)
