I’m sure most of us have heard that God answers all prayers whether yes or no. In this thread I am talking about those that seems to have been answered with a yes.

Last March during Lent, I got to read Colleen Campbell’s My Sisters the Saints, and the Shadow of His Wings by Fr. Gereon Goldmann. I have been wanting to read Colleen’s book ever since it came out and finally got around that. Both of their life experiences had yes answered prayers with several bumpy rides along with them. Nevertheless, the end results were desires granted. Both were also major life changing requests, having a baby for Colleen and Fr. Goldmann finally becoming a priest. If you have read this stories, you’d think about how can their prayers be answered because for some would be resigned to their state.

For both these people I mentioned, they were. Colleen told the ultrasound technician a few times she could not be pregnant because it never happened before, that they mixed up the results or something. When a sister told Fr. Gereon that he would be ordained a priest despite lacking in his required studies due to the war, he scoffed.

Colleen mentioned that if she couldn’t have a baby she could accept that, it’s the waiting and not knowing that’s driving her crazy.

Their stories reminded me of Zechariah when Gabriel told him they would have a baby, John the Baptist.

Did you have any similar experience? When you learned that your prayer request has been granted, you were incredulous? You thought it won’t be granted so you didn’t hope anymore, since you’re already resigned to your situation? You repress your feelings of excitement when something hopeful comes up because you don’t want such a huge disappointment when it doesn’t happen. In fact you’re used to disappointments and apparent nos that it’s already expected. When it does finally happen, you’re like nah, couldn’t be.

I have had many “yes” answers to my prayers. I pray with confidence and have never thought or felt any of the things at the end of the OP.

I know God hears my prayers. I know he answers them in his time, not mine.
I recently had a positive answer to a long desired prayer, and am praising God. His answers are never too late.
