Abraham the Brahma?

I stumbled across this theory last year, and a friend sent me the attached link to an article which I found to be very interesting. It’s a fairly long article:

The author is an American educated scholar, not a theologian.

I wondered what some of you would think of this theory, I’d love to read a dialogue.

I wouldn’t say I either support or condemn the theory, but I do think it is a nice idea that we could all be connected, all the world’s religions as one people of God.

This is actually rather interesting.

It is interesting though, that of all the stories, the biblical account of Abraham remains the most human.

A problem with these kind of articles, though, is that there is pretty much no way to verify the ideas therein contained.

For example, do a search on the term “Melik-Sadaksina”, which the author claims is the actual Melchezidek.

All you will find is articles about Abraham and how he’s related to India.

Not saying that this means that the Abraham-out-of-India hypothesis is untenable, just that it is difficult to establish any sort of historical certainty in dealing with the ancient history of the Middle East.

Ok. The more I am reading this the more I am finding glaring problems.

“Moslem” comes from the word “Moshe-ayalam”? Nope.

That’s just one example…

Oh well. Still kinda a cool idea.

Hi. I wanted to know how credible the link is. Is just some crackpot theorist? Is it from a respected authoritative scholar. I have not read it yet and just wanted a precursor.
