It was not just Dan’s education it was also the benefit of the doubt given to the priest on the ground to have collected the information. I apologize if you have the same background as Dan and I have overlooked but most people that work where Dan works on a daily basis are not going to off the cuff question priests without giving some room for benefit of the doubt which in my opinion you did not.

Granted I did not say all - I said most. I also said my opinion.

Also - CAF does have a character limit which I have gone over many times and have had to scale back - a simple reading of the forum rules would have told you this.

But hey if you want to accuse me of being lazy thats OK - go right ahead. I know sloth isn’t an issue.

Ahhh in your opinion I did not give the priest the benefit of the doubt. How about asking me next time rather than assuming? How about giving me the benefit of the doubt as well?

And I did see that CAF has a character limit, I was responding to another post. It is actually 6000 characters, now I am aware of them.

And thirdly, my comment about whether you wanting to do the work or not was uncharitable and I take full responsibility for that. I ask for your forgivenss on that, as that comment was out of line. I will be taking this to Confession.

Given and granted. Thanks for showing me that I need to be careful with everything that I say and that I should pray that charity to motivate everything I write.

In the future if this scenario happens again, I shall PM the person and ask them off thread before posting.

Someone mentioned that perhaps it was a “blessing” not “absolution”, however I know he said “I absolve you…” because it struck my attention. I’m not sure why he did it, but he asked me if he could pray for me after our long discussion about the Catholic faith and communion. I knew I couldn’t have communion then and now and yes, I know I can become Catholic and recieve these graces. This priest seemed to know how distressed I was not recieving communion. He seemed to be trying to be accomodating, still I now know that isn’t done. (or allowed) !?!
