Hello!
Since today is Ash Wednesday, those 14 years of age and older are obligated to abstain from meat, right?
I forgot to abstain today during lunch. There was Chinese food (orange chicken and chicken fried rice, specifically) at a school club party and I ate the orange chicken and chicken fried rice. I was just about to eat a piece that I already bit into and then I remembered to abstain from meat so I put it down. :doh2:
I ended up giving the rest to someone else (a non-Catholic who wanted the chicken) but he told me to finish the part that I bit so I did. As for the fried rice, nobody wanted it (who wants rice that somebody already touched anyway?) so I had to throw it away.
So… did I commit a mortal sin? (or multiple?)
Thank you,
