Not at all.In other words, Christ was silent on the matter.
Not at all.In other words, Christ was silent on the matter.
So you think using a condom is murder? There is a big difference between not being open to a new life and murdering one that already exists.Contraception is an intrinsic evil and a grave sin against the Sixth Commandment. See the Catechism.
It is not a yes or no question at all. The OP doesn’t give two alternatives.I am pretty sure that was a yes or no question and you evaded it.
I believe you have confused the Fifth and Sixth Commandments. So you think using a condom is murder? There is a big difference between not being open to a new life and murdering one that already exists.
Citation please.Not at all.
Ok well I guess one could always choose to believe correlation/statistics/evidence is completely inaccurate. This is still ignoring the elephant hiding behind the grass leaf. In the business world an analysis like that would have gotten the program manager fired on the spot. Correlation does not mean cause and effect. If I have a patient with gangrene in his leg and I amputate it the patient still has a good chance to die because of the gangrene. However, if I overdose him on morphine he does not die of gangrene and he does not suffer but he still dies. That means that amputation is not as effective as morphine in preventing death by gangrene. Is my analysis correct or not?
using contraception doesn’t mean you are committing adultery either. Adultery refers to exta-marital or pre-marital sex or sexual acts.I believe you have confused the Fifth and Sixth Commandments.
You do not state your religion. If you are a Catholic, then you know that the Church teaches infallibly in faith and morals. If you are not Catholicl, and adhere to the notion of sola scriptura, then that is another thread and not appropriate to go off on a tangent here.Citation please.
Stating “Truth of Christ” with no evidence of Christ stated this “Truth” is obviously problematic.
Yes, contraception is a sin against the Sixth Commandment. The Sixth Commandment encompasses all sexual sin.using contraception doesn’t mean you are committing adultery either. Adultery refers to exta-marital or pre-marital sex or sexual acts.
WHAT???I don’t believe any of your poll options accurately represent what Catholics are to believe and advocate on the matter.
scborromeo.org/confess.htmusing contraception doesn’t mean you are committing adultery either. Adultery refers to exta-marital or pre-marital sex or sexual acts.
SIXTH COMMANDMENT
“You shall not commit adultery.” (Ex 20:14) “You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife.” (Ex 20:17)
Note: In the area of deliberate sexual sins listed below, all are mortal sins if there is sufficient reflection and full consent of the will. “No fornicators, idolaters, or adulterers, no sodomites,… will inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Cor 6:9-10) “Anyone who looks lustfully at a woman has already committed adultery with her in his thoughts.” (Mt 5:28)
Did I willfully entertain impure thoughts or desires?
Did I use impure or suggestive words? Tell impure stories? Listen to them?
Did I deliberately look at impure TV, videos, plays, pictures or movies? Or deliberately read impure materials?
Did I commit impure acts by myself (masturbation)?
Did I commit impure acts with another - fornication (premarital sex), adultery (sex with a married person)?
Did I practice artificial birth control (by pills, device, withdrawal)? Did I marry or advise anyone to marry outside the Church?
Did I avoid the occasions of impurity?
Did I try to control my thoughts?
Did I engage in homosexual activity?
Did I respect all members of the opposite sex, or have I thought of other people as objects?
Did I or my spouse have sterilization done?
Did I abuse my marriage rights?
I have no idea what you’re talking about. They were yes or no questions. You chose not to answer them, which is fine, but then you blamed me for asking questions without answers.Your question, based on false dichotomies, had no answer.
Although the Church teaches against the use of contraception, I am pretty sure they don’t lump it under adultery. You also tend not to properly cite anything and tell us where you get it from and somehow expect us to take your word for it.Yes, contraception is a sin against the Sixth Commandment. The Sixth Commandment encompasses all sexual sin.
Please go read the Catechism.
This person is making no sense and totally evading questions when a simple yes or no will suffice. Saying over and over they should know the truth really does not mean anything. It is like me saying I will bring change in this world, but then not saying what change, good, bad, what? You need to explain what you mean by truth… the truth about condoms? contraception? what?I have no idea what you’re talking about. They were yes or no questions. You chose not to answer them, which is fine, but then you blamed me for asking questions without answers.
See CCC section entitled The Sixth Commandment, paragraphs 2366-2372 and 2399Although the Church teaches against the use of contraception, I am pretty sure they don’t lump it under adultery.
What more do you need than *The Sixth Commandment *and Catechism of the Catholic Church? Seriously can you not look it up?You also tend not to properly cite anything and tell us where you get it from and somehow expect us to take your word for it.
i am not evading anything. Pose questions that make sense and i will answer them. This person is making no sense and totally evading questions when a simple yes or no will suffice.
Contraception is an intrinsic evil, I stated my position. That is the Truth and that is what the Church teaches. The Church treats human sexuality in a wholistic way in the document I cited-- The Truth And Meaning Of Human Sexuality. I encourage you to read it. I am not going to post it here, it’s 80 pages long.Saying over and over they should know the truth really does not mean anything.
I already did.You need to explain what you mean by truth… the truth about condoms? contraception? what?
Your questions were phrased in a similar way to the logical fallacy called a loaded question or tu quoque. An example of such a question is:I have no idea what you’re talking about. They were yes or no questions. You chose not to answer them, which is fine, but then you blamed me for asking questions without answers.
How in the world is are you beating your wife? not a yes or no question???Your questions were phrased in a similar way to the logical fallacy called a loaded question or tu quoque. An example of such a question is:
Are you still beating your wife?
Such a question is NOT a yes or no question.
