considering that all of your posts reference AC/DC and satanism, I can’t help but think your conscience says otherwise.

You can make DC from AC if you run it through a rectifier circuit.

You can make AC from DC if you run it through a power inverter.

More usless information made possible by a grant from The Gulf Corportaion, where dirty deeds are done dirt cheap.

I’ll admit that I listen to some of their songs. They sound good, but if you listen to the words in something like “Hell’s bells” you’ll get the satanist references.

That’s not good.

I agree with you. They aren’t satanic.
I’ll buy that. AC/DC is extremely juvenile, even puerile. Their “satanic” lyrics are the audible equivalent of a snotty teenager getting her bellybutton pierced precisely because Dad told her not to.

Besides, everyone knows AC/DC is a reference to bisexuality.

True. I don’t listen to music because of lyrics, though. I’ve never been terribly fond of AC/DC, but they’re okay. Some of their songs (Big Balls) bother me, though.

Although Pope Benedict XVI (When he was a Cardinal) said that AC/DC are satanists and that the name AC/DC stands for "Anti-Christ, Death to Christ), he was mistaken (He was fallible when he said those words).

The name “AC/DC” actually came from the sister of the band’s two guitarists, Malcolm and Angus Young. She saw the name on a sewing machine, and the brothers thought it was a good name because of its implication of power and energy.

AC/DC are by no means satanists. When accused of being a satanists, Malcolm Young replied, “Me Mum would kill me for that!”

In fact, the band’s lead guitarist, Angus, has been married to the same woman since 1980. He had no previous marriages. He does not drink alcohol, nor has he ever used drugs. (He does smoke a lot of cigarettes, though.)

The band’s song “Highway to Hell” refers to something Angus said to a girl once. She asked him, “What is an AC/DC tour like?” He responded, “It’s like a highway to hell!” In other words, it was very exhausting and difficult on a person.

Hell’s Bells is actually a tribute to the band’s late lead singer, Bon Scott, who had died in Feb. 1980. They made the album “Back In Black” as a tribute to him. The idea of Hell’s Bells ringing for Bon is not meant seriously. That would be like saying Led Zeppelin’s song “Stairway To Heaven” is a religious song.

I’m a devout Catholic, but I am also a big fan of AC/DC. Saw them Jan. 15.

AC/DC rocks.

People need to lighten up
“Lighten Up”: two words in the English language guarnteed to have the opposite of the intended effect.

A lot of these bands have played at satanism just to scandalise parents and drive record sales while retaining what was once called ‘plausible deniability’. Marilyn Manson has made an entire carreer out of it.

So here’s my advice, wannabe rockers: doesn’t matter if you can sing or play, all you have to do is start a rumor about yourselves that you eat nothing but human flesh.

You’ll be top of the charts within a month.

Really, are Catholic rock bands that marketable? 😛

Okay, so maybe we do consume things other than the Eucharist, but still.

By the way, mind the bump.

When did Ratzinger say that? I’d never hear that he specifically called out AC/DC and speculated on what it stands for. I’d be a bit surprised if he had done that.

bad concert-just saw them this winter…
The last time I saw them was during the Ballbreaker tour. Man were they loud!!!

Great concert though. AC/DC has always reamined one of my guilty pleasures as I always admired them for a very plug-in-and-play type of band. It’s heavy Chuck Berry.

Er… I’m not sure I’d compare AC/DC to Chuck Berry. 😛

Just saying.

That was actually the rumor spread about the Christian faith in Rome (people heard they were eating flesh) when it was first starting to develop pre 200 A.D.

And look how popular it got!!!
