Er… I’m not sure I’d compare AC/DC to Chuck Berry. 😛

Just saying.
The appearance is different, but the basic forms are the same. If you’ve played both on the guitar then you would see the similarity, I assure you.😉

most bands that have satanic lyrics are just doing it to get attention

Yeah, I’ve tried playing both on the guitar. But to me, saying that Chuck Berry and AC/DC are similar is like saying that all rock artists are similar. Because inevitably, the same chord progressions and scales will be used by musicians over the generations. Just my :twocents:

This is true.

I remember a few months ago I was listening to Eddie Trunk Live on XM Radio, and he relayed a story concerning a club owner who he knew. Apparently the guy needed a band to play on Christmas day and somehow got in touch with Deicide (a reknowned “Satanist” band, at least God-hating; hence the name “Deicide,” “to kill God”) through their manager and finally got ahold of their lead singer. The lead singer of Deicide said that he couldn’t play that day and the club owner asked him if they were already booked for another venue then. The singer’s response: “Nah, it’s Christmas and I need to be here for my kid.”

It’s all marketing. I’m sure that there are some who buy into the whole image, but I’m certain that they’re few and far between. It just winds up making the pasty-faced suburban loners feel like they’re special and in touch with something dangerous and otherworldly.

That’s true, but AC/DC are, for the most part, just a loud early rock-and-roll/blues band. It’s all double-stops and blues scales. It’s not just the notes though as everyone uses the same twelve; it’s the style of the rock that they play.

Deicide has some pretty messed up song names and album covers…very…very anti-Christian (the vocalist burned an inverted cross into his forehead) I used to be a fan of this band BEFORE I found God, since then I stay away from any anti-Christian band.

God Bless
