Epistomology, if I have the definition right, is how you know something to be true. Would holding a Descarte-esque epistomological stance be acceptable belief for a Catholic. The only way we can know something is through logical conclusion based on assumptive/observable facts (I have two hands, x=y, therefore y=x, etc.); That these obvious, base truths are the only way in which we have access to knowing truth.
