Born of the mystery of Redemption in the Cross of Christ, the Church has to try to meet man in a special way on the path of his suffering. In this meeting man “becomes the way for the Church”, and this way is one of the most important ones.

I.B. 11 is a quotation from “The Imitation of Christ” by Thomas a Kempis. The friends of the cross would have recognized this easily.

What I DO like about the Cross, is that I can be religious and mournful, and it is not just because of my humiliation and malady. It is supposedly a gift from God.
