No, I learned all that when my diocese was one of those that returned the sacraments to their original order. For 9 years we had kids prepare for and receive both Confirmation & First Communion. Then our diocese was suppressed and we merged with another diocese to form a third diocese.Wow, thank you, Phemie! How do you know all this stuff? I’m beginning to suspect you’re an undercover religious ed teacher
The diocese we merged with was confirming in grade 10, we were in grade 2 and up, so in this new diocese the bishop decided that it would be grade 6 & up. We weren’t happy, but it means that there will be no confirmation for a few years in our parish since most of the kids are already confirmed.
