The other day I was watching a trailer for an upcoming kids movie coming. At the end of the trailer thought pop ups came up for other trailers. One of the other trailers was for the movie, “London Fields” with the thumbnail or screenshot of the actress with an open shirt revealing part of her chest. I looked at the the thumbnail for maybe 3-5 seconds trying to see if she had a shirt on, or if that really was partial nudity. Once I noticed for real that it was indeed nudity, I got off the page, but I was aroused. I later went back to look at the actresses stomach to confirm whether or not it was indeed a shirt of nudity and confirmed that it was nudity. The worst part about it is I keep thinking about the thumbnail and picturing what I saw, but I am trying hard not to, and banishing those thoughts as quickly as possible. Overall my question is did I commit a venial or mortal sin? Thank you, and God Bless.

If you are a male and if you see a nude female especially an attractive one ,a sexual excitement should occur in you.It is natural as planned by God.If it does not occur there is something wrong with you.
Whether seeing it is sin or not depend on the circumstances. In this case you did not intentionally want to see it and enjoy the feeing of a sexual arousal. No sin.

After reading your other posts since you’ve joined in May, I tend to agree with some other responses that you seem to be suffering from scrupulosity. Note my conditional, equivocal language; I’m not a psychologist or a theologian. I am a fellow brother in Christ, though, and I wanted to give you an article to read. Please actually read it. I know it’s not a video, but it’s what you seem to need…ah, there’s that equivocating language again! “That he’s mad, 'tis true, 'tis true 'tis pity, And pity 'tis, 'tis true”🤣

If it was accidental, then it wasn’t a sin. It will become a sin in case you keep this thought (desiring sexually the woman) and consent with it.

Fight the desire instead. And pray for Saint Joseph. He is a great partner in this combat.

Although it was an accident at first, never, never go back for a second glance, that just worsens the situation.
By taking a second or third look, it could be a mortal sin, depending on the intentions.
Just be careful, that as soon as you see something immodest, just click out fast, and divert your eyes.

And don’t ever, ever, ever visit the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican. Oh, the nudity pictured, and you can’t help but look over and over and admire…
Please, a little perspective.

Do men get aroused just by the sight of a seminude woman? Men and women are different

I think you should speak to your pastor so you can have a proper understanding of sin.

Really? The nudity in the picture is still not allowed. Immodesty is still immodesty, no matter where it is. Remember, the Church once had the nude figures in that covered up…

How you feel is natural. It only becomes sin if you act on it. If you masturbate it is a sin.

Nudity is morally neutral.

(Check out the paintings in the Sistine Chapel).

You cannot keep the birds from flying overhead, you CAN keep them from making a nest in your hair.

It is a fact which you can see even in animals also.God made so for obvious reasons.

normal men; no we don’t

immature boys; looking for trouble; yes

I reproduce a small write-up of a reputed person in the field. No ground to disagree with that.

"There is a general consensus that men do have a higher sex drive, but it is hard to pin down explicitly.

This is because men tend to be much more straightforward regarding their desires and aggressive in perusing them. Women are far less likely so the feeling is that they must have lower drives.

Of course societal values come into play and while men are generally applauded for their pursuits, women are demonized and shamed for not being proper or being loose or slutty.

This may mean that combined with a native difference in manifestation of drives, women may just learn to suppress and control their desires more than men."
