It’s a good thing this man has done. Although my own father was not able to teach me those things because he was very unwell and, oddly, not very mechanically inclined. (I say “oddly” because I once saw his Navy test scores and they showed him as having mechanical aptitude.) It was my mom who taught me the basics of what was under a car hood, how to iron, what to do when something broke in the house.

Yeah, good guy, but this is about the third thread about him.

Story of a great deprivation.
This YouTube channel is a nice thing, but I don’t think it’s a great deprivation for a man to grow up without being taught how to change a tire, iron a shirt or fix a leaking toilet (examples from the article). My dad didn’t teach me how to iron a shirt (my mother did all the ironing) or fix a leaking toilet. And nowadays, it’s pretty easy to look on the internet to find out how to do all sorts of things.

A father is not just someone for his children to learn a particular task from. But he is also a model of behavior. For example, while showing little Johnnie how to repair a roof shingle dad drops the hammer over the edge of the roof - dad then teaches Johnnie how to properly express frustration.
