I realized, too late to revise my original post, that Joan of Arc’s feast day is Saturday, May 30. I regret this mistake and hope it doesn’t cause any confusion.

One of my favorite quotes is from St. Joan of Arc:

Act, and God will act; work, and He will work.

When things get tough (and they have been very tough for few years) and I am so
stressed that I don’t know what to do-- I read that quote.

I find something to do that will make the situation better. No matter how small or how seemingly insignificant it is-- I do it with the assurance of that quote.

P.S. I took this quote off the net but I questions the punctuation. If there is anyone out there who has the original, I’d appreciate any corrections on that. This is very important to me because this quote will be with me the rest of my life.

I highly recommend Mark Twain’s Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc Twain himself thought it was his best writing, and I think it blows Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer out of the water.

My daughter and I read it during our breakfast reading time last year. She went to her school’s All Saints Day parade dressed as St. Joan.

St. Joan of Arc is one of my favorite saints. I read her biography by Mark Twain. It was really good. I will be thinking of her tomorrow.
