Well, I am kind of ignorant, but I have to say that all the acronyms in the posts are making me scratch my nead.

SSPX. FSSP or something like that. I have figured out the NO, OF, EF with your help.

I would propose that the first time an acronym is used in a thread that the full name be used… For example, "In the Novus Ordo (NO) as opposed to the Tridentine Latin Mass (TLM) . . .

For those familiar with the acronyms, this may seem redundant, but not to those of us who do not recognize them.

Creates confusion too. I could not figure out why people were talking so much about a Mass form being promulgated by a group that had dissociated itself from the church.

Thanks for considering this.

Well, the SSPX never created a liturgy. It holds on to the Extraordinary Form.

The SSPX is the Society of Saint Pius the Tenth. They are not a licit group.

The FSSP is the Fraternitas Sacerdotalis Sancti Petri (Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter). They are a fully licit group.

An old poster had a long list of what all these meant! We never were able to make it a sticky 😦
