Act of Contrition

At the end of stating my sins, I say something like, “I have examined myself and these are the sins I am conscious of. I am sorry for my sins with all of my heart and though I don’t deserve it, I ask my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for pardon and healing.”

This way I am covered in case I am not asked for the Act of Contrition. It is rare not to be asked to say it here in Atlanta. Opus Dei priests always ask for it.

I guess that makes sense because the two parishes in Bismarck/Mandan I’ve been to are the Cathedral (with I think is very pretty) and Spirit of Life (I love the priest there). I am from Minot and have gone to confession with almost every priest that is in our town (including the retired ones) and they all ask for the act of contrition. The St. Leos and Little Flower Parishes are VERY traditional…especially St. Leos.
I agree that Cathedral and Spirit and life are probably the best parishes in the Bisman. I really like that Spirit of Life has Latin Mass on Friday. The few times I’ve been to Minot I went to St. Leo’s which is quite beautiful especially after the renovation. I was just there last month for Theology on Tap and the priests there are amazing.

Ahh my husband and I go to theology on tap as well. One of the priests at St. Leo’s was a teacher of mine in high school and is now my spiritual director and dear friend.
