“Do you have any hobbies?”
“I collect molds, spores, and fungus.”

Mr. Ramis was 69.
He directed the movie Groundhog’s Day - which is a very Catholic movie in the sense that it basically makes the argument for the existence of purgatory. I wonder how inadvertant that was. I think Harold Ramis directed it but I’m not sure if he wrote it.

R.I.P.

Any spiritual connection was unintentional, atleast on ramis’s part. He was a big part of many great movies including Ghostbusters, Caddyshack, and National Lampoons Vacation.

Mr. Ramis co-wrote the screenplay for National Lampoon’s Animal House. Mary Louise Weller, an actress I have had a crush on, played Mandy Pepperidge in that movie.

Love that film:
“When Chekhov saw the long winter…”

Yeah, Ramis directed and co-wrote it.

It’s a favorite among Buddhists, for it’s “rebirth” theme.

Ramis was brought up Jewish, and then as an adult studied Buddhism and existential psychology.

.
Ah - makes sense. But also very Catholic - he wasn’t allowed to move on until he “purged” all his selfishness, bad traits, etc.

He was in As Good As It Gets, one of my favorite movies. He played Dr. Bettes.
