Why do some earlier (and a few recent) Protestant translations substitute “Grace” (Charitoo) in this word with “Faith” (Pistos)? Is it because of a reliance on different Greek manuscripts?
If so, what are the manuscripts? Which ones were used for the Douay-Rheims and which for the KJV?

Also, is there a consensus today as to which one is correct?

Thanks,
James

I believe that the 1611 King James was based on the Textus Receptus which contains the word pistis which is correctly translated as full of faith. Other bibles are translated from the Codex Vaticanus and Codes Sinaiticus where the Greek word for full of grace is found.
The 1611 King James has one huge error in the Lord’s Prayer.
Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:** For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. **

This is an ancient Catholic liturgical prayer found in the Didache and the Apostolic Constitutions. It is not found in any Greek Manuscript except the Textus Receptus. In other words, Jesus never prayed these words. They were copied by mistake into the Greek manuscript by a Catholic copyist.
