The one I attended (Diocese of Brownsville in Texas) was very orthodox and orthoprax. I would.

I don’t know. It seems like it’s a hot button issue. I have read several threads, and opinions vary.

Jerry,

I attended an ACTS retreat last weekend. It was great. The three women from my parish with me can’t wait to bring it back to our parish.

I got a lot out of it. IMHO, I’d say ATTEND. 👍

With respect to Cradlecatholic5, I also attended one since my last post just to see what it was like. I found it bizzare, touchy (as in a lot of touching) and controlling. There is a rule of secrecy that they impose (or try to) to keep the details of how these retreats work. I am not bound by it because I made it clear that I refused to be bound, so I am willing to discuss them. The analogy of “not ruining it for others” that was quoted was absolute hogwash. The real reason IMHO is that a reasonable, normal person who knows how they work are less likely to be affected by the process.

My experience obviously is/was somewhat different than some.
