Should the ill person follow the doctors advise to use the acupuncture ?
When I was the Evangelical ,this practice as long as I remember was forbidden by the Evangelical community .
What is the Catholic attitude towards the acupuncture ?
Thank you.

My daughter is studying to be an accupuncturist and I have asked a priest about it and he sees nothing wrong with it as long as no spiritual dimensions are brought into it. In fact he has gone to an accupuncturist for back pain. Accupuncture has been a great help with my arthritis in my hand and also with knee pain. I don’t think it is a cure but it can certainly help with pain management. Another priest I spoke to thinks it is just mind over matter but he won’t even take medication for a headache.

Acupuncture is a part of Chinese medicine.

There is nothing wrong with it as long as the practioner does not attach any spiritual practice to it, and they usually don’t.
Just like your family doctor may not be a Christian but you won’t hesitate to go to him.
