Adam and Eve sinning when they didn't have sinful nature/desires like us. How'd that happen?

Why did God allow the devil to tempt them when he knew what they would do? This sort of thing hurts my brain
I think temptations inevitably come to a rational being with free will. The real point is that Adam & Eve had a choice, between good and evil, life or death, God or no God. And they, for whatever reason, made the wrong choice, not that they may not have reversed that decision later on, not that they weren’t redeemable IOW, as we all are. And we’re here now to sort of explore the options in this brave new world, free from God’s direct control in our moral lives-and come to make the right choice this time. We are Adam, in the corporate sense. We fell with him and we can also rise with the new Adam, Jesus Christ.

Either way man is obligated by justice and love to do the right thing; that’s what Adam & Eve were challenged to do-and that’s what we’re challenged to do. The choice is always before us, along with the temptations.

From the bigger perspective, from Eden on, this is all about God coaxing and drawing our wills towards Him, the perfect good. The more we’re focused on and bound to God, the closer to perfection and purity we become. This is a journey for us, together with God, by which He intends to produce something, something good, something greater than He started with.

And what made them sin so easily than compared to the blessed virgin?
Adam and Eve had, as we do , free will by nature from God. Obedience to God, is a choice to obey, and until it was tested, we don’t know what Adam and Eve would have done. The test came… and they failed.

The Blessed Virgin had the same tests. She passed 🤟😎

Created beings which have the aspect of personhood, such as humans and angels, but not rocks and trees, have consciousness of their self as an independent entity. Because of personhood, the self sees itself as autonomous. Thus, there is a temptation to assert the self against someone else’s orders or rules. Thus, the serpent’s temptation: Did God really say that you must not do that? But of course you can do that! You are your own person!
