I have a question: I know that Adam and Eve had two sons but… So how is it that the 2 sons continued procreation for generations to come if there weren’t any women except for Eve? They only possibility is that there was incest with Eve!!! That doesn’t seem appropriate. I am sure I have this all wrong so… can someone help explain this to me? How was there procreation if they had 2 sons?

Thanks in advance.

Hope this is in the right forum…:o

Besides Cain (Genesis 4:1) and Abel (Genesis 4:2), Adam and Eve had Seth (Genesis 4:25) and “other sons and daughters” (Genesis 5:4). Presumably, the sons of Adam and Eve chose wives from among their own sisters, the daughters of Adam and Eve.

Oh. Okay. I had no idea he had other sons and daughters. That explains it. Thanks. 🙂

Adam and Eve did have two sons (Cain and Abel) but obviously, they were not the only children (the Bible mentions that Cain, after killing Abel and being exiled, became the founder of a city and had intercourse with his wife, producing a son). The Bible gives attention to them since their story illustrates how envy caused the first murder in the world, but because they were the only children of the first humans that are named does not necessarily mean they are the only progeny of Adam and Eve.
