Hi here is a question. Or a ponderment
I try and make it simple.
Did the garden of Eden cover the entire earth? I don’t think it did as Adam and eve were expelled from it. Where did they go? I believe the garden was a huge area on earth. Not all the earth.
Adam and eve first humans. I believe they were. But. I don’t think they were the only humans. I believe there were humans living out side of the garden.
Does anyone here think I’m off track here?
I don’t think we know whether or not the Garden of Eden covered the entire earth. But you are right in that it probably didn’t cover the entire earth since Adam and Eve were expelled from it.

That said, Adam and Eve were the first humans with souls. See this article:

catholic.com/library/Adam_Eve_and_Evolution.asp

Adam is real because his nature, as illustrated in Genesis, is
spirit/matter,
rational/corporeal,
soul/body
which is irreducibly complex.

As I read more and more posts about Genesis, I wonder why Catholics willingly accept the idea that Adam is symbolic. Some hide their doubts by using the word speculation about Adam. Why would Catholics even think about speculation regarding a basic doctrine of Catholic faith?

What makes Catholics consider Adam and Eve symbolic instead of what they really are? What will eventually happen to their faith in a world dominated by scientific materialism?

Are ordinary Catholics becoming closet dissenters?

Blessings,
granny

These two websites contain TV ads about Catholicism. The first is from one of the Dioceses which is using them. The second is general information.
