Man effectively destroyed his relationship with God, separating himself from the very source of his life, both spiritual and physical. He’s now born lost, without faith in, let alone love for, his Maker. He needs to be born again, or born from above, the life of God being re-instilled within him. Jesus came to effect this reconciliation by the Atonement, so that man and God may commune again, as intended, as justice calls for.
