oh no no Thistle - you must learn soon that Evolution is a con riddled with frauds, fakes and hoaxes. Here we have one of them. Many Catholics, both clergy and laity, now assume that the Catholic Church regards Evolution as an open question. They tend to say"Evolution is acceptable,as long as God was involved and, anyway Pope Pius XII taught that evolution is an open question".In fact he did not use the term"open question".Indeed Evolution per se is not an open question for Catholics in the sense that Pius XII placed creation and evolution on an equal footing.A parallel can be drawn between Evolution and Contraception where both Popes were confronting dissenters and both allowed research and discussion of opposing views but neither Pope intended to approve doctrinal innovations. The Pope allowed research and discussion-nothing more - and warned strongly that evolution seemed highly improbable and wrote against dissenters etc - {Creation Rediscovered] - twinc
Pope Pius XII dcelared:

The Teaching Authority of the Church does not forbid that, in conformity with the present state of human sciences and sacred theology, research and discussions, on the part of men experiences in both fields, take place with regard to the doctrine of evolution, in as far as it inquires into the origin of the human body as coming from pre-existent and living matter—for the Catholic faith obliges us to hold that souls are immediately created by God.

one must read carefully and prayerfully "research and discussion[by experts and sprcialists in both fields - not just one]take place only in as far as it inquires into the origin of the human body as coming from pre-existentand living matter[Primates]or inorganic/dead matter[dust]-there is nothing here about Evolution in general which in fact is not even mentioned once in the Catechism but Creation by God is - as regards experts and specialists go to www.kolbecenter.org and also www.DaylightOrigins.com - twinc
