May I respectfully ask if you know the general Catholic definition for Original Holiness aka Sanctifying Grace.

Adam and Eve had SG, I think we can too, but it does not stop them nor us from using our freewill and choosing Good/Evil. So there is no O.S, they like us, us like them, are able to remain with God or not.

I’ve been going around in circles for the past year!

Briefly, our conscience points out the difference between good and evil without experience of evil. Since Catholicism teaches that Adam is a true human, Adam’s conscience would be enough to know the difference between good and evil, including the results, without experiencing evil directly.

In addition, a rational intellective soul has the capability of reasoning the concept of the difference between good and evil without having to experience evil before free will can operate.

Pardon me. It is God Who judged Adam’s culpability and pronounced that disobedience occurred. I do not need to re-trial Adam.

Evil is defined as the absence of good. The absence of good in Adams case was that he didn’t acknowledge God as the source of his existence, gifts, owing his complete adoration and obedience, and dependence on .God his Creator. Instead he looked to himself and desired to be like God. and didn’t show gratitude for his blessings To admit the whole truth is to be humble and submissive to the Deity, Adam failed in this regard. Adam had a conscience, which is nothing other the the human rational intelligence. An informed conscience is one that know right from wrong. We know that Adam’s conscience was in formed, because God told him that if he ate of the forbidden fruit, he would suffer death, so he wasn’t ignorant in his choices God gave Adam a free choice, and one that he was capable of making for God is just There is a divine mystery in all of this. Consider: God can not make an infallible being because to be infallible, is to be God who can not make a mistake. Creatures are limited in all things, and completely dependent. If God knowing this, then how was He to save man from mistakes, sin,and error. Perhaps subject for another thread?
